NTG Hosts Inaugural 5K Benefiting Nonprofit Organization
Nolan Transportation Group (NTG) hosted the 1st Annual 5K road race benefiting Skyland Trail, a nationally recognized nonprofit psychiatric treatment organization.
“The reason we chose Skyland Trail as the beneficiary of our 5K is because we all know someone affected by mental illness. Most people don’t talk about it but it’s an important topic to address in our communities,” states Kevin Nolan, NTG Founder and Executive Chairman. “We want to help raise awareness and highlight the great work Skyland Trail does day in and day out,” adds Nolan, who is on Skyland Trail’s advisory board.
Over 220 participants came out to the family-friendly event, where people of all ages were welcomed, even their furry pets. Employees, family, friends and community members raised $10,000 for Skyland Trail and the donation will go towards financial aid to further the help of the organization.
“We are thrilled that businesses like Nolan Transportation Group are demonstrating their support for mental health,” says Beth Finnerty, Skyland Trail president and CEO. “We truly appreciate all the individuals and families who participated. Their efforts strengthen our ability to help individuals and families struggling with mental illness and amplify the message that recovery from mental illness is possible.”
Marietta Donuts, as well as King of Pops, were on hand at the finish line to provide refreshments to everyone in attendance. Other sponsoring companies include: OTR Capital, Marquee Insurance Group and PayHawk.
